Gillian Allan PhD, Mindfulness and Movement Coach

Bernd M Neckel, Founding Principal

Gillian has a PhD in Social Policy and as a mindfulness practitioner for eight years she is also a qualified teacher of the Feldenkrais Movement Method. Over years of study and practice she has combined the disciplines to enable a powerful mindfulness movement practice that is at the heart of her teaching. Being unconscious of how we use our bodies in the work environment is a major cause of symptomatic pain which not only effects our sense of well-being but prevents us from achieving our full potential. Bringing mindfulness to the way we hold and use our bodies, in particular when working, is central to our performance and positivity. Gillian is also training to become a Gestalt Psychotherapist.

As a seasoned senior executive and business consultant to SMEs and corporates, Bernd has had years of experience in integrating mindfulness practice into his varied work roles. Stress driven working is too often brought about by fear and attachment to outcomes which can be driven by our own unconscious insecurities. Any counter strategies such as self-focus or self-awareness practice is invariably misunderstood as an indulgent distraction from target driven objectives. Through learning with mindfulness and meditation teachers, Bernd’s experiential mindfulness coaching introduces simple exercises that discretely integrate mindfulness practice into daily working life both for individuals and working teams, helping to bring about an openness and positive energy into any business culture.
